General Release of Claims

This release is made on 7 November 2026 between:

  1. Marta Kowalczyk, of ul. Polna 12/4, 00-625 Warsaw, Poland ("the Releasing Party"); and
  2. Nordlys Interiors AS, of Storgata 44, 0182 Oslo, Norway ("the Released Party").

1. Background

The parties have dealings about the design work and the kitchen fitting that Nordlys Interiors AS carried out at the Releasing Party's apartment in March and April 2026. The Releasing Party wishes to give up all claims against the Released Party about those dealings and about everything else up to the date of this release, in exchange for what is described in section 2. The parties agree as follows.

2. What is given in exchange

2.1 The Released Party will pay the Releasing Party NOK 45,000 by 14 November 2026, by bank transfer to the account the Releasing Party has given in writing.

2.2 In addition, the Released Party will give the following: the repair of the two cabinet doors at the Released Party's cost by 30 November 2026.

2.3 The Releasing Party confirms that this payment and value is enough in exchange for the release, and that the Releasing Party has been promised nothing else for it.

2.4 This release takes effect when both parties have signed it and the Releasing Party has received the payment in full.

3. The release

3.1 From the date it takes effect, the Releasing Party, for itself and for its heirs, successors, assigns, and anyone who claims through it, releases and forever discharges the Released Party, and its owners, directors, officers, employees, agents, insurers, successors and assigns, from every claim, demand, debt, liability, right of action and cause of action of every kind, whether in contract, in tort, under a statute or otherwise, whether for money or for anything else, that the Releasing Party has or may have against any of them, arising from any act, omission, event or matter up to the date the Releasing Party signs this release, including the matters described in section 1 (together "the Released Claims").

3.2 The Released Claims include claims that are known and claims that are not known or not suspected at the date of signing, and claims for loss that has not yet appeared or whose full extent is not yet known. The Releasing Party understands that facts may later turn out to be different from what it now knows or believes, and agrees that this release stays in effect anyway.

3.3 The Releasing Party confirms that it has not given, sold or transferred any Released Claim to anyone else, and that it has the right to give this release.

4. What is not released

This release does not cover:

  • the Released Party's duty to pay and give what is promised in section 2, and its other duties under this release;
  • any claim that arises from an act or omission after the date the Releasing Party signs this release;
  • any claim that the law does not allow to be released, including any right to a minimum payment, to a remedy for fraud or to a remedy for personal injury or death where the law forbids giving it up in advance;
  • the right to report a matter to, or to cooperate with, a court, regulator or other public authority, and to receive an award from one;
  • the Releasing Party's rights under the five year guarantee on the kitchen units, given by their maker

5. Promise not to sue

The Releasing Party promises not to start or continue any claim, lawsuit, arbitration or complaint against the Released Party about any Released Claim. If it does, this release may be raised as a full answer, and the Releasing Party will pay the reasonable legal costs the Released Party has to spend on defending it, to the extent the law allows.

6. No admission

This release is a settlement of a matter between the parties. It is not an admission by the Released Party, or by the Releasing Party, of any fault, liability or wrongdoing, and may not be used as proof of one in any other matter, except to enforce this release.

Questions people ask

What details does this template ask for?

The form asks for 14 details, starting with Releasing party: full name or company name, Releasing party: address, Released party: full name or company name, Released party: address, What the claims are about. 2 more are optional.

Can I download this template as Word or PDF?

Yes. When you have filled in the form, save it as a Word document to keep editing, or as a PDF to send or print. It is free and needs no account.

Is what I type sent anywhere?

No. What you type stays in your browser while you fill in the document. It only goes to nerix if you choose to open the template in the chat.

What should I check before I use this template?

The law on releases differs from place to place. Some places limit or refuse a release of claims that are not yet known, of personal injury, of fraud, of unpaid wages and of an employee's statutory rights, or require a release to be in a set form, to give time to think it over or to be signed with independent advice. A release also does not bind people who are not a party to it. Read the list of what is not released, and ask a lawyer to review the release before you sign it, especially for an employee, a consumer or a large sum.

Are these company templates free?

Most are. Fill in and download them for free as Word or PDF, with no account. A few longer documents are premium: free to fill in, paid once to download, and marked with their price.

Is a template the same as legal advice?

No. A template is a careful starting point. Company, contract and data protection law differ by country, so have a lawyer read anything that carries real risk before you sign.

Can I change the clauses?

Yes. Download the Word version and edit it, or open the template in the nerix chat and ask for a clause that is stricter, shorter or in another language.
