Health and safety policy

Company: Brightwater Bakery Ltd
Sites covered: the bakery in Cork, the delivery vans and the two shops
In force from: 1 January 2027

1. Our commitment

Brightwater Bakery Ltd wants everyone who works for us, and everyone our work affects, to go home safe and well. We will follow the health and safety law that applies to us, look for risks before they cause harm, and improve our safety all the time.

2. Who is responsible

  • Maria Silva, General manager has overall responsibility for health and safety, and makes sure there are enough people, time and money to do it properly.
  • Ahmed Nasser, Production manager runs the safety work: risk checks, training, records, inspections and the follow-up of accidents.
  • Managers make sure their team knows and follows the rules, and fix or report problems.
  • Every worker looks after their own safety and that of others, follows instructions, uses the equipment given, and reports hazards, accidents and near misses.
  • Visitors and contractors follow our rules on site and report to the person they are visiting.

3. Risk checks

We write down the hazards in each kind of work, who could be harmed, what stops it and who does it. The main hazards we have found are:

Hot ovens and surfaces
Heavy lifting
Slips on wet or floury floors
Van driving

We review our risk checks every year and after any accident or change.
