Environmental policy

Company: Northgate Supplies Ltd
Applies to: All offices, warehouses and company vehicles of Northgate Supplies Ltd
Responsible: Lena Fischer, Operations Director
Effective from: 1 February 2027
Next review: 1 February 2028

Why we have this policy

Northgate Supplies Ltd wants to run in a way that limits harm to the environment. This policy says what we commit to, how we will measure it and who is accountable.

Our commitments

Follow the environmental laws that apply to us
Use less energy and water each year
Reduce waste and recycle what we can
Choose suppliers that take the environment seriously

Targets

Cut electricity use by 10% against 2026 by the end of 2027
Send no general waste to landfill from the warehouse by 2028
Move 50% of the vehicle fleet to low-emission models by 2029

Travel and transport

Prefer video calls to flights for internal meetings. Use rail for trips under 500 km where practical.

Buying and suppliers

Ask main suppliers for their environmental policy. Prefer recycled and refillable products when price and quality are similar.

Roles

  • Leadership sets the targets and provides the resources to meet them.
  • Lena Fischer, Operations Director keeps the policy up to date and reports on progress.
  • Everyone follows the policy, suggests improvements and reports spills, leaks or misuse of resources.

Reporting and review

The owner collects energy, waste and travel figures each quarter and reports to the leadership team. A short summary is shared with staff each year.

The policy is reviewed by 1 February 2028, or sooner if the law or our operations change. We state our environmental claims only where we can show the evidence.

Templates are a careful starting point, not legal advice. Where the law matters, check what applies where you are.
