Checks, ISO 14001, Early access

ISO 14001 readiness from the documents and records you already keep.

nerix looks through your documents and records for what an environmental management system should show: your aspects and impacts, the legal duties you follow, your objectives and your emergency plans. It then sets up the records and the yearly plan that go with it. Early access.

The free plan is one seat and 3,000 credits a month, never charged.

01What nerix checks

Twenty-three requirements, from the context to continual improvement.

The library holds ISO 14001:2015 as 23 requirements. They include 6.1.2 environmental aspects and significant impacts, 6.1.3 compliance obligations, 6.2 objectives and plans, 8.1 operational control and supplier requirements, 8.1 life cycle requirements, 8.2 emergency preparedness, 9.1 monitoring and compliance evaluation, 9.2 internal audits, 9.3 management review and 10 corrective action.

nerix looks in your workspace for each one. A document that only mentions a requirement counts as Partly found and shows its passage. A record of work done, such as an internal check item that you recorded as Conforms in the last 12 months, counts as evidence. No evidence at all counts as Not found, and a person confirms each result.

  • Context and leadership4.1 context, 4.2 interested parties, 4.3 scope, 5.1 leadership, 5.2 environmental policy, 5.3 roles.
  • Planning6.1.1 risks and opportunities, 6.1.2 aspects and impacts, 6.1.3 compliance obligations, 6.1.4 planning actions, 6.2 objectives.

02What nerix sets up

Environmental figures, legal list and a yearly plan.

In Settings, Certifications, say you follow ISO 14001. nerix sets up an environment risk kind, lists for suppliers, interested parties, scope, legal requirements, drills, changes and communication, and figures to follow for energy, waste, emissions, incidents, open findings and training done. You see what it would add first and can untick any line.

The plan has a yearly business review and internal audit, a legal compliance evaluation (9.1.2), a risk review (6.1.1), an emergency drill (8.2), a training plan, a quarterly review of the figures and the goals, and a supplier rating. Programmes include a quarterly process audit.

03Where it stops

It does not measure your emissions or audit your site.

nerix reads documents and records. It does not take readings from meters, calculate your footprint or inspect a site, so a figure is only as good as the number you or your system enter. It prepares you for an audit and does not issue a certificate: an accredited certification body does.

The library's entry is ISO 14001:2015, and it is marked as replaced by ISO 14001:2026. Check with your certification body which edition and transition dates apply to you before you rely on a clause list. ISO text is paid, so nerix shows the clause number and its own guidance, and the full wording comes from your own copy.

Readiness information, not an audit, a certificate or legal advice.

04Questions

Questions

Does nerix make us ISO 14001 certified?

No. A certificate comes from an accredited certification body after its audit. nerix helps you prepare by showing what your documents already cover and by running your internal audits and management review.

Which edition of ISO 14001 is covered?

The library entry is ISO 14001:2015, marked as replaced by ISO 14001:2026. Ask your certification body which edition and transition dates apply to you.

Can nerix work out our environmental aspects?

No. It looks for whether you wrote them down and kept them current. Deciding which aspects are significant is your judgement.

Does it track our energy, waste and emissions?

It sets up the figures to follow and lets you add a value each period, with a chart and a plain reading. It does not read meters or calculate a footprint for you.

Do you include the text of ISO 14001?

No. nerix shows the clause number with its own short label and guidance on what to look for. The full wording comes from your own licensed copy.

Is it finished?
